One drop in an ocean of needs...

In the summer we made a charitable contribution to Aniela Gocel, who suffers from MS, and in the autumn we decided to support the Single Mother's Home, "Wspólnymi Siłami" Association. The centre is located in the Białołęka district of Warsaw, at 2 Skierdowska St. The situation of mothers with children living there is very difficult, the building itself needs renovation. Access is very difficult, walking from Modlińska Street one has to walk about two kilometres through the forest, or one kilometre from the sewage treatment plant on Czajki Street. At the edge of the forest there is a very modest house - no fence, no gate, no insulation with a terrible, muddy access. Until a few years ago, it housed a MONAR centre, but when the building was no longer in use, single women took it over. The barrack at the time was converted into a house and this is how the "Wspólnymi Siły" Association was founded. As the guests and staff point out, they mostly lack food and fuel.  In summer, the problem of fresh vegetables manages to be solved, as the ladies have a garden where they grow vegetables and heating is not necessary. In winter the problem rises to the highest level, as the wards are no longer self-sufficient and heating is a necessity.

So we decided to stock the Association with fresh food and other basic necessities. Unfortunately, looking at the scale of the needs, this is still too little. Nevertheless, we are pleased that once again we have been able to help those most in need. This reinforces our conviction that sometimes a little can mean so much.
