Carpet tile storage

One of the several advantages of carpet tiles is the small area required for storage. For example, 60 m², or 12 packs of 50/50 cm tiles can be stacked, one on top of the other, in an area of 0.5-1.0 m². For customers, this is an incredible space saving. For wholesalers like ours, the matter is not so cheerful.

We found this out when we started storing tiles 2 years ago. A quantity of 5,000 m².

Theoretically, 50 pallets of 100 m2 should fit into an area of 50 m2. Unfortunately this is not the case, and not only because you cannot stack one pallet on top of another. Firstly, there has to be a fair amount of clearance for forklift operation. Secondly, there must be direct access to all 12 colours. As a result, it turned out that an area of around 120 m2 was too small, and access to all types of carpet was not good enough anyway. It turned out that the best solution was not so much the obvious insertion of professional storage racks, but their appropriate positioning. As a result, more than 6,000 m2 of carpet can fit into an area of around 50 m2. And most importantly, there is direct, fast and convenient access to the goods without much physical effort for the warehouse staff.
